To all my Lafayette Appliance Repair friends and customers:

First off, I’m NOT ACCEPTING NEW BUSINESS at this time.  I’ve made the difficult decision to downgrade my business to servicing existing customers, referrals and friends and family ONLY.  If you are in that category, I welcome the opportunity to continue to serve you on an ad-hoc basis, just reach out to me at 765-491-3487.

Why this decision?  The short story is that I’ve been in HVAC and appliance repair since 1989.  Unfortunately, the winds of change are impacting my ability to stay profitable including skyrocketing parts costs, skyrocketing insurance premiums, underpriced competition, YouTube, Amazon, Ebay, etc.  Equally disheartening is Google and their recent (and ongoing) search algorithm change, which has greatly reduced my call volume by about 85%.  Their introduction of AI and outright prejudice against home-based businesses, ie, those who don’t have a commercial location has put my business ranking below where it should be so the result is that potential customers don’t see LAR in their initial search results.  This creates a “game over” situation for me.  There’s more personal reasons, but that’s the gist. 

Will I be retiring?  No.  As 60 is the new 50, I feel there’s more for me on the horizon, but as long as I can walk, talk, move and groove (LOL!), I’ll always be willing to help others.  

Friends, if you’re a previous customer, I’m grateful for you and thank you for your patronage.  I smile when I consider all the people I’ve been blessed to be able to help over the years.  In my time, I’ve also given out a LOT of free advice, suggestions and wisdom that has hopefully been beneficial to you, if you’ve been a recipient.  Yes, I’m sad to go, but eternally grateful for the many years of being able to serve my community.  Thanks for the opportunity!
